TICONDEROGA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two Ticonderoga parents were arrested after their 2-year-old son left their house without them realizing it. According to New York State Police, on Wednesday, around 11:47 a.m., troopers were waved down by a pedestrian after they found a young child alone near Montcalm Street in Ticonderoga. The child was placed in a safe area with the pedestrian until they could figure out who the child belonged to.Ticonderoga Police responded and were able to inform troopers who the child was. The parents, Slater and Mauran, were later interviewed, and according to New York State Police, were unaware their child left the residence. Slater then picked up the child and returned safely home. GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Gloversville man was arrested on August 25 after police responded to reports of him being unresponsive, who was found to possess stolen items once he woke up. On Friday, August 25, police responded to the McDonald's in Wilton for reports of an unresponsive person. Once they arrived, they found Roberts and were able to wake him after multiple attempts. Police say he appeared to be under the influence of a substance and had a controlled substance in plain view of his personal belongings. Law enforcement says an inventory of Roberts' possession found multiple items, including forged checks not belonging to him and personal paperwork not named to him. ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis County man is accused of stealing $150 worth of frozen chicken from a Popeyes restaurant in Pagedale while he was out on bond. Prosecutors have charged Damon Saulberry, 53, with second-degree burglary and stealing in the investigation. The incident unfolded Tuesday at the Popeyes in the 7100 block of Page Avenue. Dive teams are returning Thursday to search for two men who disappeared into the water after a tubing accident in Lake Perris a day earlier. California State Parks dispatchers received a distress call around 4 p.m. Wednesday reporting an accident in the boating zone just north of Alessandro Island. The person who called in the report told responders a man was tubing behind their boat when he fell into the water and could not swim back to the tube. Another man, who was a passenger on the boat, then jumped into the water to attempt to rescue the tuber and also began to struggle. Both men went under the water in distress and did not surface, a State Parks official confirmed. The unidentified men were about 45 years old, according to the official.
